The Pithoragarh Fort was established in the year 1789 by the Gorkha Rulers. It is located on the outskirts of Didhat on the top of a hill.

Kapilehswar Mahadev

Kapileshwar Mahadev is a cave located around 3 km from Didihat. Lord Shiva is worshipped in the cave temple of Kalipeshwar Mahadev. Tourists can enjoy a beautiful view of the Himalayan Ranges and the Soar Valley.

Dhwaj Temple

Nakuleshwara Temple

The variety of wild animals in the Askot Sanctuary are snow cocks, snow leopards, musk deers, tahra, Himalayan black beers, koklas, bharals, chukors, chirs and pheasants. The sanctuary is filled with lush green flora and one can dot many temples here. The place also offers a beautiful view of the mighty Himalayas.

Chaukori is a small hill town with a pleasant climate and magical views of the snow covered Himalayas. Located around 112 km form Didihat, the entire region is filled with orchards and tea gardens. The scared site of Gangolihat which is famous for the Hatkalika Fair celebrated during ashtami of Chaitra month at the Kalika Temple. The temple is visited by devotes with drums and flags to worship Goddess Kalika.


Named after the hanging bridge on the Kali River, Jhulaghat is a small town located on the Indo - Nepal border. There is a small marjet in Jhulaghat of electronic items and Nepali goods. Jhulaghat is also the way to enter Nepal.

Narayan Ashram

Located around 136 km from Didihat, the Narayan Ashram was built by Narayan Swami in the year 1936. It is a spiritual and socio - educational site that is located at an elevation of 2734 meters above the sea level. It is surrounded by scenic beauty. The ashram has a school in its premises that imparts education to the local youths. The school is supported by a library, Samadhi sthal and a meditation room.

Patal Bhuvaneshwar

Patal Bhuvaneshwar means the sub - terranian shrine of Lord Shiva. It is a cave temple which is situated at a distance of around 91 km from Didihat. One will have to cross a tunnel and a cave on the way to the temple. It also has a dark passage of water.

By Air
Pantnagar Airport is the nearest airport from Didhat located at a distance of 229 km. The airport is situated in the district of Nainital in Uttarakhand. One can easily hire a taxi from Pantnagar Airport to Didihat, Champawat and Pithoragarh. Pantbagar terminal is connected to New Delhi Airport by four round flights every week. Indira Gandhi International Airport (New Delhi) is the nearest international airport from Didihat.
